ATL Tinkering Lab
The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in our school provides a creative environment where students actively participate in various tinkering and innovation activities. Students visit the laboratory according to their available time and work on projects based on their curiosity and interests. During these activities, the inquisitive nature of the students becomes clearly visible as they explore ideas, experiment with tools, and demonstrate their projects to other students in the school.
During the academic year 2025–26, an important training initiative was organized jointly by DIET Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Under this program, three teachers from our school — Girish Deshmukh, Dilip Agrawal, and Santosh Kharat representing the subjects of Science, Mathematics, and Language respectively — received specialized training in Electronics, Mechanics, and Digital Literacy. After completing the training, these teachers successfully implemented ATL activities in the school with 25 selected students, guiding them through different practical projects and learning experiences.
As part of the Electronics learning section, students were introduced to different types of sensors, their uses, and how they can be applied in real-life projects. Using this knowledge, students designed and developed simple innovative models using these sensors, enhancing their understanding of practical electronics and automation.
In the Mechanics section, students learned about different mechanical tools and materials used in practical mechanical work. They were trained in using tools safely and effectively while creating useful objects and simple models. During these activities, students prepared items such as mobile stands, jewelry boxes, and small study tables. In the school workshop activities, students successfully created mobile stands and jewelry boxes, which helped improve their technical and creative skills.
To encourage environmental awareness and love for nature, students were also guided on how to plant saplings, care for plants, and understand how seeds grow into trees even in small spaces. Through these activities, students learned the importance of nurturing plants and maintaining a green environment.
Under the Digital Literacy section, students received basic training in the use of computers, laptops, and mobile devices. They learned how digital tools can help them in their academic activities and future careers. Students practiced creating Gmail accounts, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and using applications such as MS Word and MS Excel. They were also introduced to the basic concepts of app development, helping them understand how simple mobile applications can be created.
The 25 selected ATL students who participated in this training will serve as role models for other students in the school. In the future, they will guide their peers in developing projects, conducting experiments, and actively participating in various activities organized in the Atal Tinkering Lab.
